If resistance against this in the US can change this is questionable. There are already quite some miserable laws in place.
McCain or Obama will rather be accomplice in this crimes than anything else.

Ron Paul would likely change this.
He is the one who would give America a real choice to stick with what it stood for in the time where the homeland of capitalism changes partly to socialism.
What about ordering him on the ballot by the supreme court of the US if he agrees with this.
Circumvent the regulations to create a real choice in the elections in the time of major changes in the country. Both other main candidates are not that far from each other in quite some essentials.

As you see the US is no more a model for the world. And with Obama and McCain it probably will walk partly in the wrong direction.
The people around the world should support independent politics in their countries.
