That Barack Obama gets the nobel price is for me a piece proof that it has to do with connections who gets it. He is the second democrat who gets the price in few years (Al Gore got it some years ago.)

The reason why he is the candidate is just a confirmation of democrats' politics. His strive for a world free of nuclear weapons delivers countries who still possess them to the the supremacy of the conventional weapons of the US and so produces dependicies desired by US politics.
That the endeavor for military control of the world goes on under Obama shows his military budget. The US spends 41% of the whole amount for weapons in the world. The next biggest spender is China with 5.8 %.
For me his strive for a world free of nuclear weapons serves American imperialist interest. But this topic needs clother study which I have not done.
